Every SUBNONE tee carries a line on the back — something that means something at mile 18 when your legs have gone. We’re working on the next drop and we’d rather print yours than make one up.

Short beats clever

It gets read by someone running behind you, at distance, probably tired. Three or four words tends to land harder than a sentence.

Say it out loud

If it sounds awkward spoken, it’ll look awkward printed. The good ones sound like something you’d actually say to yourself.

Earn it

The lines that work come from somewhere real — a race that went wrong, a session you didn’t want to start, something someone said to you once.

Make it yours

It has to be your own words. Anything lifted from another brand, a song lyric or an existing design we can’t use, however good it is.

By submitting you confirm the words are your own and give SUBNONE permission to use them on products without further payment. We’ll always ask before printing, and we’ll credit you if you’d like. We can’t use submissions that copy existing trademarks, lyrics or designs.
